About us
Sono sotto attacco (“I am under attack”) is an independent, non-profit initiative for people who suffer online shaming, doxxing, threats and organised cyberattacks. We explain what to do, point you to those who can help and connect victims of the same group.
How it began
It all began with a family split between Italy and Switzerland, targeted by anonymous accounts on Telegram: photos and defamatory accusations posted in channels created for the purpose, personal data leaked, threats aimed at family members.
While gathering evidence for the complaint, that family discovered they were not the only ones. At least five other people, in other places, were suffering the same treatment, with the same methods. Each one thought they were alone.
Hence the idea: if victims find each other, they can protect themselves better and file linked complaints. An isolated case risks being dismissed; several cases with the same pattern tell a different story.
What we do
- We explain in plain words what to do when you are under attack: protect yourself, keep the evidence, file a complaint.
- We maintain a verified list of associations, services and authorities in Italy, in Switzerland and abroad.
- We collect reports confidentially to understand how many people the same group is targeting and to help victims file linked complaints.
- We are building a team of volunteers: lawyers, IT experts, psychologists.
What we do not do
- We do not publish names, nicknames or accounts of alleged perpetrators: they often use other people’s identities.
- We do not carry out private investigations, attacks or retaliation.
- We do not replace lawyers, the police or emergency services.
- We do not ask for money from anyone who writes to us.
Who is behind it
The initiative was founded by Edoardo Guzzi, who is responsible for it. We work with volunteers and are independent of political parties, companies and platforms.
